Governor Edwards Declares Louisiana CPA Week; CPAs Visit Classrooms to Promote Accounting Careers
November 07, 2022
The Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) is pleased to announce that Governor John Bel Edwards has commended and recognized the week of November 7- 11, 2022, as “Louisiana CPA Week.”
The Louisiana CPA Week initiative complements the LCPA’s Career Awareness program that connects LCPA members, who often have local ties to a particular community, with students and faculty at high schools to encourage students to enter the accounting field. Louisiana CPAs will visit high schools throughout the state to inform students about having a successful career in accounting. LCPA members will discuss what courses are necessary to become a CPA, what role accountants play in businesses, and what they can do with a degree in that field.
Although LCPA members will reach more than 700 students in schools throughout the state this week alone, CPAs are available during the school year to assist with middle and high schools career exploration, as well as financial literacy programs. If you would like to schedule a CPA visit for your classroom, contact Ann Lupo at alupo@lcpa.org, 504.464.1040.
