Leadership Education And Development (LEAD)

Preparing young talent to be leaders is a practically universal challenge for organizations, but LCPA is here to help.

The LEAD workshop is a comprehensive leadership development program for rising stars of the CPA profession. We asked managers what skills they thought their young professionals needed most and packed the agenda with those topics presented by world-class speakers. Plus, graduates of the workshop will have continued support and additional resources from LCPA to make sure they’re set up for success.

This is important: This workshop is designed for CPAs licensed 5 years or less and is offered at a discount as an exclusive member benefit. You must be an LCPA member to attend. Space is limited – register today!

Leading the Tribes

John Grubbs • Best Selling Author and Trainer • Longview, TX

This powerful experience explores the impact social media has had on the many tribes in our lives. Our family tribes, friend tribes, and even work tribes are dominant in today’s experience. Transactional management is no longer effective. We must build tribal leaders in the workplace. Discover key insights on what it takes to empower today’s teams for success. We will explore the dangers of hiring sheep. Hear what it takes to create a workplace that people choose to belong and feel motivated as warriors for a purpose. Highlights include:

  • Create a sense of belonging with our teams…We want to belong – a duty to something bigger
  • Understand the physiology of human tribalism…We are wired to belong – oxytocin in our brains
  • Differentiate between transactional management and tribal leadership…A common purpose – not a transaction
  • Discuss employee engagement rates and the impact on organizations…Warriors rather than soldiers
  • Build unified teams that are cohesive and “sticky” for talent…Interested vs. committed
  • Share best practices for connecting with team members…It is not WHAT we do; it is WHO we do it with that matters

Note: All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of John's book, Leading the Lazy.
