Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university; preferably with concentration in business or administration with accounting major or minor
  • 5 to 7 years of professional accounting experience with preferably 2 of those at the controller level or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

The New Orleans Museum of Art is seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will be responsible for the overall financial health of the Museum and will manage a portfolio of key operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A BS or Business degree from a 4-year accredited institution and current designation as a CPA. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years serving in a leadership role, including direct supervisory responsibilities, in a non-profit or company. Demonstrated ability to manage effectively, act as a change agent as necessary, employ emotional intelligence and operate at the highest level of professionalism is a must.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors; previous experience staffing a Board Committee is preferred.
  • Experience in integrating IT systems to improve accounting productivity and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting and reporting is required, including current GAAP and FASB requirements.
