Tax Alert: Sales Tax Disaster Refunds, Arkansas Extends Filing Deadline

Louisiana taxpayers can claim refunds for state sales taxes paid on personal property destroyed by a natural disaster in a parish declared a federal disaster area.

Refunds are available for property lost during storms and flooding that affected the state in March and August of 2016.

Arkansas Extends Tax Deadline for
Louisiana Taxpayers

Taxpayers residing in Louisiana counties which have been designated as federally declared disaster areas have until January 17, 2017, to file any Arkansas tax return, including individual income and corporate income, which are due on or after August 11, 2016.
