Since being enacted into law on March 23, 2010, The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act “ACA” has changed the landscape of the U.S. healthcare system, and employers are faced with significant challenges in controlling the escalating cost of their health plans as a result. This presentation will discuss the back ground of the ACA, what it meant to employers when it went into effect, what it means to them now, and the failed repeal and replace efforts under the Trump Administration.

As CPA’s, you are one of your client’s most trusted advisors, and increasing health plan costs are a concern your clients are voicing to you. The presentation will then move towards cost savings initiatives for community rated groups (2-50 employees). Lastly, Gerrit will discuss the advantages of a self-funded arrangement for employers and walk through an underwriting demonstration when analyzing a client’s potential candidacy for self-funding.
