Accounting Opportunities Week

Share your story with high school students and educators • November 7-11 • In high schools throughout Louisiana

Looking for ways to help build the pipeline of future CPAs?

Here’s your opportunity to tell your story about where you’ve been so far — and what you still plan to do — in your CPA journey!

LCPA is hosting Accounting Opportunities Week, a career awareness program created to help Louisiana high school students better understand the career opportunities in the CPA profession.

CPAs, CPA candidates, and accounting majors are needed to visit local high schools to speak with diverse high school students about the best part of their career journey, what an average day looks like, how they use their skills to solve problems, and what to expect in college.

How It Works

  • LCPA will provide materials and schedule you for a 30-minute to 1-hour presentation based on your availability.
  • A training session will be available before your scheduled presentation.
  • You can choose to be paired with another volunteer presenter if you like.
  • Volunteers can indicate if they prefer a live or virtual presentation.
  • If you’re unavailable November 7-11, you can still indicate your interest in volunteering for LCPA's career outreach efforts.

Help connect us to local high schools

Use your connections with local high schools, teachers, principals, and school district leaders to help us schedule visits during the week of November 7-11. Don't have a connection but want to participate? We'll work to make a match in your area.
