LCPA Executive Director Grady Hazel to Retire
The Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) recently announced
that LCPA Executive Director Grady Hazel, CPA, CGMA will retire from his position
at the non-profit, member association effective April 30, 2012.
Hazel leaves LCPA after 17 years of service. He has accepted a position with
the American Institute of CPAs as a liaison to some of the country's largest
CPA firms.
Hazel became LCPA's executive director in 1995 after serving as Associate Superintendent
for Business Affairs for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Under his
leadership, LCPA has continued to serve the CPA profession in Louisiana through
significant legislative accomplishments, and has kept the association at the
forefront of national trends and initiatives.
He received his undergraduate degree and MBA degrees from Louisiana State University
in Baton Rouge. He is a Certified Public Accountant and also holds the new Chartered
Global Management Accountant designation.
Organized in 1911, LCPA (www.lcpa.org) has more than 6,000 CPAs statewide working
in public practice, industry, government and education. It is considered the
premier organization of accountants in the state.
