AICPA and Louisiana Present Women to Watch Award to Baton Rouge CPAs
Recognizing Their Outstanding Accomplishments in the Profession
Local CPAs, Lisa Traina and Bridget Kaigler received the Women to Watch Award, co-sponsored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee and the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA) Women's Initiatives Committee. The program, which is in its third year, highlights the accomplishments of women in the CPA profession and demonstrates to emerging female leaders that success is not out of reach.
Lisa Traina, CPA, CITP, CGMA, founder and owner of Traina & Associates, was honored as the 2016 Women to Watch Experienced Leader. Lisa leads her company in assisting clients in implementing measures to secure data and manage risks efficiently and effectively. She is a nationally recognized speaker, sharing her knowledge with thousands of bankers, CPAs, and business professionals annually to help them leverage emerging technologies. She shares the same zest for innovation with her own company, which operates 100% in the cloud.
In 1999 and 2008, Lisa received LCPA’s Outstanding Discussion Leader Award. She was honored as one of Greater Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Influential Women in Business” in 2014, and Traina & Associates has been honored fives times as a member of the LSU 100 list of the top 100 fastest growing Tiger-led businesses. Lisa also is a past president of LCPA.
Bridget Kaigler, CPA, CGMA, CMA, a Tax Manager at Albemarle Corporation in Baton Rouge, was honored as the 2016 Women to Watch Emerging Leader. Bridget and her team support all US locations for Albemarle Corporation, Rockwood Lithium Inc., Chemetall US Inc., and other domestic subsidiaries. Her responsibilities include non-income tax functions encompassing sales/use tax, property tax, and incentives. Currently, she is the chair of LCPA’s State and Local Tax Committee and an at-large board member for the Baton Rouge Chapter.
In addition to being actively involved promoting the CPA brand and the tax profession, Bridget is the founder of Bringing Leadership Back (BLB), LLC, an organization dedicated to helping aspiring leaders grow. She is a frequent speaker and freelance writer on the topic of leadership.
LCPA is a non-profit professional association serving more than 7,000 current and future CPAs statewide. It is the premier organization of accountants in the state.
