Are you looking to gain efficiency in your daily Excel use? Consider our 4-part webinar series designed to take you through Excel from A to Z and show you how to elevate your daily use of Excel to the next level. This series will use accounting-centric examples, developed for accountants, by accountants. Part Four of the series focuses on aggregating data and building reports inside of Excel. In this portion of the series, you will learn how to import data into Excel from a variety of sources and how to build reports from imported and manually keyed-in data. Additionally, you will learn how to merge and share functionality between Word and Excel and create reports that update in real-time. You will also learn through an in-depth discussion on charts, the techniques and capabilities, as well as shortcomings, of using Excel to present visual reports.

Objectives

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

  • Import and link data into Excel from a variety of external sources - including text, Access, and ODBC sources - and use advanced import tools, such as Power Query
  • List and apply four techniques for consolidating data in Excel
  • Identify opportunities to streamline report assembly and printing with tools such as Camera, Custom Views, linked and embedded objects, and working with Excel-based reports saved as PDF documents
  • Create visualizations in Excel to aid in communicating financial data information, including differentiating between different types of charts and identifying the circumstances under which certain types of charts are preferable
