This program will present an approach to eliminating paper documents from your long-term storage files with the goal of reducing operating costs and enhancing productivity. It is based on real-world experience, the school of "Hard Knocks," and a whole set of solutions to sidestep potential landmines.

Speaker Bio

Richard Melancon, CPA

Richard is a Metairie-based Certified Public Accountant with over twenty-five years of experience in accounting, tax, and business consulting services for small and medium sized businesses. He is the owner of a local accounting practice by the same name. The firm was established to offer a range of consulting services to small and emerging businesses in the following areas: Accounting services to set-up the books and records of client companies, Strategic Planning to create an initial business plan or to build a growth plan, Product/service pricing consulting, Income tax preparation at the corporate and individual levels, Tax planning services to minimize tax liability, and Computer consulting to assist clients acquiring and using desktop computers and cloud-based services. Richard brings his financial expertise to the LSBDC as a consultant and trainer, focused on tax and strategic planning. He has served as an adjunct professor at UNO, the same university where he received his B.S. in Management, B.S. in Accounting, and M.B.A. Richard has been acknowledged for outstanding performance by the SBA and the National Speakers Association, and is the author of three books: You Can Afford the Good Life, 18 Secrets to Unlock Profits and Inspire Employees, and Integrity-Based Leadership. Richard is an active member of the Society of Louisiana CPAs and serves on the non-profit association’s Business 4 Business Committee.
