This session provides in-depth instruction in the basic use of the financial calculator and its application in comprehensive financial planning. Specific financial planning applications addressed here include: amortization; life needs analysis; funding for future purchases; education needs analysis; retirement needs analysis; long term care needs analysis; and holding period return and other than annual compounding. Participants will be able to solve for: net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), uneven cash flow and serial payments.
- Solve time value of money problems used to answer financial planning questions regarding meeting financial goals such as retirement and education, loans and mortgages, investment returns, etc. - Understand which type of calculation is preferable for the various financial planning goals and situations.
