Not-for-profit organizations often have to walk a fine line between serving the client base to fulfill the mission while having to think like a for-profit “business” in order to keep the mission funded. As a financial leader in or for these organizations, you are charged with protecting that precarious balance.

This workshop covers essential information for maintaining harmony in your world: IRS oversight of exempt organizations, HR risk management, new apps for keeping up on the go, and best practices for bridging the “GAAP” between the development and accounting departments. You’ll walk away with the most up-to-date information and fresh ideas to strengthen your organization’s core so it’s able to adapt to a changing environment and grow without toppling over.

Form 990: Advanced Schedules
Speaker: Eve Borenstein, JD
December 16 • 8 CPE Credits LCPA Kenner Training Center

National Form 990 guru Eve Borenstein is coming back! She has applied her involvement with the IRS’s Form 990 Redesign Project to the design of this course, which has been fully updated for the 2014 Form. This course goes beyond other courses, focusing on the data and inputs necessary to complete the complex “asks” made by the Form’s Schedules R, L and J (due of most larger organizations), and of Schedules A, C, F, G and N (those being operation-specific schedules with far-ranging implications). In addition, a targeted survey of the demands of Schedules D and M is also provided. If you work with 990s, you don’t want to miss this course!
