Annual Accounting and Auditing Update including SSARS 21, Statement on Standards for Accounting and Review Services. This new statement will clarify and revise the existing standards for reviews, compilations and engagements to prepare financial statements.

This program will cover any new or pending changes to A&A standards, including SSARS 21, Statement on Standards for Accounting and Review Services. This new statement will clarify and revise the existing standards for reviews, compilations and engagements to prepare financial statements. SSARS 21 includes significant revisions that affect the standards for accountants in public practice who prepare financial statements for their clients. Though this standard is not effective until periods on or after December 15, 2015, early implementation is permitted.

Meet the Speaker:

Anne Oestriecher is also a Certified Public Accountant, having graduated from Loyola University in 1985 and receiving her CPA certificate in 1986. She began her career working with Touche Ross, CPAs in their audit department. After rising to the level of audit manager, she left public accounting to work for Hibernia National Bank as their Accounting Policy & Control Manager. There, she was responsible for many aspects of the accounting and reporting, including analysis of new accounting pronouncements, coordinating internal control issues, and technical accounting responsibilities for items such as investments, derivatives and purchase accounting. 

Upon the acquisition of Hibernia by Capital One in 2006, Anne moved from New Orleans back to her hometown of Alexandria, and formed her own practice, providing continuing education for CPAs. She traveled around the country providing seminars to other CPAs on various accounting and auditing topics. In 2009, she was named the Outstanding Discussion Leader by the Society of Louisiana CPAs. In 2011, she was named an Outstanding Discussion Leader by the American Institute of CPAs. She also provided audit services to small businesses through a contract relationship with a CPA firm in Houma, Louisiana as well as occasional consulting services to other companies and firms. 

In 2008, Anne began the process of earning her securities licenses, and in 2009 joined her father in Oestriecher Financial Management Services. She is fully licensed as an Investment Advisory Representative as well as a Registered Representative with HD Vest Investment ServicesSM, as well as having a Life and Health insurance license. These licenses provide her with the ability to offer a complete range of investment and risk management products and services. In 2011, Anne passed the CFP® examination and other requirements and is now a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. 

She is also a member of the Society of Louisiana CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
