Speaker's Bio Information
Jerry Schreiber is a Partner in the Metairie accounting firm of Schreiber & Schreiber where he specializes in accounting, tax, and consulting matters of individuals and small businesses. He received his BBA from Loyola University and is a member of the LCPA, AICPA, and the New Orleans Estate Planning Council. He currently serves on the AICPA IRS Practice and Procedures Committee and has served on the AICPA Tax Practice Responsibilities Committee, SSTS Revision Task Force, Tax Forms Committee, Tax Forms and Education Task Force, and Circular 230 Education Task Force. In 2009, Jerry received the LCPA’s Distinguished Service Award for his continued efforts with IRS and Department of Revenue to clarify both federal and state tax relief provisions regarding the multitude of filing issues involved with hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Gustav. He has been published in the Journal of Accountancy, The Tax Advisor, Lagniappe, and many other publications, and has authored CPE courses on Individual Income Taxes, Section 7216, Casualty Losses, Hurricane Katrina Tax Matters, GO Zone Act, and Circular 230. Jerry also was named by CPA Magazine as "one of the top 50 practitioners to have in your corner when the IRS calls you,” and we’re fortunate to have him in our corner here today to share his knowledge with us.
Ardis Agosto, manages the Louisiana Office of the Taxpayer Advocacy Service. She is a Chicago native and moved to New Orleans to obtain her Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law. She worked as an attorney with the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic of Southeast Louisiana where she helped taxpayers with their tax problems.
