Bitcoin: What You Should Know About This Digital Currency
Unless you have been living under a rock, you have probably heard about this intriguing new concept of a digital currency called Bitcoin. This is a virtual online payment system that started as an idea back in 2009 and had over 12 million Bitcoins in circulation worldwide in early 2014. So what is Bitcoin? How does it work? What should I know about it? These are questions that we will answer so you can better understand the implication of digital currency in the marketplace.

Get Your Notes Organized With Microsoft OneNote
Are you finding it more and more difficult to keep all of your notes organized? Some are on note paper, some on hand-written on documents, some in Excel, and some in Word, some in email and on and on. Microsoft's OneNote application may be the best solution for you to pull it all together. OneNote is a very practical note taking application that works on your Windows PC, as well as Android and iPad devices. This session will give you a complete tour of OneNote and how you can use it to organize all of your notes.

This session will provide a "lightning round” review of the new features in Excel 2013 including Flash Fill, Quick Analysis, PowerView and more. This will help you decide whether it is worth upgrading, or not.

Password Keepers: Why You’ll Want One
If you want to keep your login credentials more secure and easier to use when you need them, you will definitely appreciate this session on password keepers. We will explain and demonstrate what they are and how they work. A review of popular password keeper solutions will be provided. 


Meet the Speaker

 

John serves as a strategic adviser to CPAs and the CPA profession in all aspects of leveraging technology. He has authored and presented CPE programs for thousands of CPAs over the past 25 years on technology and practice management issues. John is a pioneer in the development and delivery of web based CPE programs. He has presented "live” web CPE events for groups as large as 600+ participants, as well as many small groups. John assisted the Michigan Association of CPAs as an adviser in the development of their web based CPE model. 

John’s primary qualification is his passion for helping CPAs achieve greater success by leveraging technology. He has extensive knowledge and experience working with CPAs throughout the country. John resides in Rochester, Michigan with his wife Karen and their two children.
