Self-Study Ethics Courses Available

LCPA is offering three self-study courses to satisfy your 2010-12 ethics requirement. Each program relates to a different field of study relative to ethics:

Cost: $99/course

Each course is composed of interactive case studies requiring the participant to interact with the information to help better understand the material. All questions within the course must be completed before proceeding to the final test. Upon completion of the course you will be given the option to take the test. You must pass the test to earn 4 hours of CPE credit.

Important Information: Please read the following information before you begin. LCPA will not be responsible for errors caused by not following these instructions.

  • Read the Instructions: It is very important that you read all of the provided instructions before beginning the course, as they cover important details on how to properly register online, completing the course, printing a certificate of completion, and reporting the self-study course to the State Board. LCPA will not be responsible for errors caused by not following instructions.
  • Accessing the Course: Once you have registered for an online self-study Ethics course, you will be sent a confirmation form that will include a unique URL to your course. The confirmation will come by mail and may take up to 10 days to get to you. (Note: If you need immediate access to the course, you may call our member service department who will verify your registration and payment, and then they will supply you with the URL access by email.)
  • One Year to Complete: You have one year from the date you launch a course to complete the test. You may retake a test as many times as needed within that year in order to achieve a passing grade.
  • Certificate of Completion: You must print a certificate of completion at the time you complete the test, so make sure that your computer is hooked up to your printer. For CPE purposes, the certificate must reflect a completion date no later than 11:59 PM CST, December 31, 2012. (Please note: The state board will not accept ethics credits for registrants with outstanding balances.)
  • Self-Reporting: Because this is a self-study course, you are responsible for reporting your completion to the state board – it will NOT be included on your LCPA transcript. Retain your certificate of completion in the event you are audited by the state board.
  • Additional Courses: One registration fee is good for one course. Additional courses may be taken if you are reinstating or want additional CPE credit, but you must register with and pay separately for additional program in order for them to count for CPE credit.
