Women's Initiatives Task Force – NEW!
For more than 20 years, women have represented 50% or more of new
CPAs in the accounting profession. Yet today, women only account for
9% of all CFOs and 23% of partners in CPA firms nationwide. They also
leave the profession in greater numbers than their male counterparts,
which greatly impacts the leadership pool and succession planning
for firms and organizations alike.
The Women’s Initiatives Task Force is charged with addressing
the issue of retention and advancement of women within the CPA profession
through outreach and education. Specifically, the Task Force will:
- Plan and support the annual Women’s Workshop and develop
other educational and outreach programs as needed.
- Communicate with firms and organizations on best practices with
regard to retaining and advancing women leaders.
- Increase awareness of trends and issues impacting women in the
profession and the attrition of women leaders.
The Task Force is open to women and men who are advocates for the
advancement of women in the profession and who are interested in making
measurable gains in the number of women leaders.
