Communications and Public Relations Committee
Committee Structure & Function
This
committee shall be composed of no more than 12 members. The
Society's Executive Director and the Communications Director will
serve as ex-officio
members.
The objective of this committee is to plan and foster public service projects
which will increase the general public’s awareness, acceptance and understanding
of the CPA through the following procedures:
1. Continue useful programs which have been established by prior committees and
develop new programs to implement the committee's objectives.
2. Coordinate Society activities with any appropriate AICPA public relations
program.
3. Oversee the overall public relations program developed by the Communications
Department.
4. Work with Communications Department and local chapter officers to furnish
the local press with news items concerning Society and chapter activities.
5. On an annual basis, evaluate the Society publications. Seek out members'
interest in the publications and any suggestions the members might have for improving
the publications.
6. Coordinate and assist the Communications Manager to ensure efficient
and productive operations of his duties.
7. Make certain any public relations workshop that can qualify for CPE
credits is screened by the CPE Committee.
8. Evaluate and monitor the implementation of the institutional advertising
program.
9. Coordinate Society activities with AICPA public service programs.
10. Utilize the Society's newsletter, magazine and mailings to encourage
members to participate in civic activities which may be ethically publicized
as creditable to the profession.
11. To select the Society's public service award winner.
12. To facilitate the staff in obtaining member volunteers to work various
Society public service projects including, but not limited to -- Tax Clinics,
Radio and TV call in shows, etc.
