Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee
Committee Structure & Function
The membership of the committee shall consist of 12 members. Members will have an interest and regular professional exposure to FASB, SSARS and Auditing Standards Board pronouncements. Any LCPA member on FASB, Auditing Standards Board (ASB) or SSARS committee shall be an ex-officio member.
The objectives of the Accounting and Auditing Standards Committee are:
1. To provide input to the committees of the AICPA (primarily the Auditing Standards Board and SSARS Committee) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board on proposed accounting and auditing pronouncements. These comments will be considered representative of the viewpoints of Society members.
2. To assist the Board of Directors of the Society and other committees, as necessary, in matters relating to accounting principles and auditing procedures including providing regular summaries of important developments for Lagniappe publications.
