The Chief Financial Officer is an integral part of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Executive Director/CEO.  The CFO is responsible for the management of all finance activities including, but not limited to, accounting, income and disbursement of funds, payroll tax returns, financial reports and reporting current financial status on a regular basis to the ED/CEO and presenting reports to the Board of Trustees;  implementing policies and by-laws where they pertain to finances;  preparing annual budget;  investment accounts and Foundation assets;  working with and training staff.  The CFO will also have day to day management responsibilities for the finance and accounting functions and will participate in and develop strategies to drive growth.

Education:  A Bachelors degree required, in accounting or finance preferred;  CPA certification is required;  Masters Degree preferred.

Experience & Qualifications:  15 years experience in accounting including accounting specific to non-profit corporations and have demonstrated familiarity with all stages of SEC reporting and all GASB/FASB regulations.  Experience in not-for-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, IRS regulations as they pertain to non-profits. Solid working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically accounting related software packages.

The position of Controller will oversee accounting operations for this fast paced and growing company, with over 125 restaurant operations in 5 states. Responsibilities include; production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and compliance with GAAP accounting standards. Other responsibilities include day to day management of Accounting staff, general ledger accruals and account reconciliations, coordination of and preparation for annual audit, budgeting, capital expenditure analysis, variance reporting, and additional financial analysis and projects as appropriate and requested by the company’s Executive Team. Management of the Accounting Staff includes personnel within the Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cash Management and Tax Compliance areas of the company. In addition, there will be a high degree of interaction with both the IT department; providing support, feedback and testing for ongoing technology based enhancements, and with the Operations Team in assisting with financial questions and providing feedback and guidance with regard to financial results. The Controller will report to the CFO.

Desired Qualifications: Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, a CPA and/or MBA and 5-7 years of business experience including a CPA Firm, or in a managerial position within the private sector. Working knowledge of accounting systems, such as Sage MAS500 or comparable program is desired. Candidate should be proficient in Excel, have working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products, including financial analytical tools. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented, resourceful and have the leadership skills and energy to drive a team approach in support of the goals and objectives of the organization.
