LCPA’s Centennial Poster

LCPA’s Centennial Gala, June 18, was the site of
the unveiling of the Commemorative Centennial Poster. Acclaimed
New Orleans’ watercolorist, Peter Briant, was on hand
to share his original artwork commissioned to mark the Society’s
historic year.
Peter received his degree in Fine Arts from the University
of Southern Mississippi after studying architecture at Tulane
University. For years he created architectural renderings
and was involved in numerous renovation design projects in
South Louisiana. He was named “Most Popular Artist” several
times in Gambit annual “Best of New Orleans” poll.
He was chosen to design the official 1988 Republican National
Convention Fine Arts Poster and has designed others sponsored
by American Express, The American Cancer Society, a Memorial
Sloane Kettering Cancer Center Benefit at Carnegie Hall,
Arnold Palmer/Orlando Hospital, WYES Public Television, the
late New York Yankees’ manager Billy Martin, and the
United States Marine Corps Medal of Honor Recipients.
The poster features the front of The Hotel Monteleone, the
site of LCPA’s Centennial Gala and Annual Convention,
along with the Centennial logo. Members can purchase a high-quality
lithograph of the original watercolor, framed or unframed.
