Volunteer for LCPA-LCM Financial Literacy "Earn and Learn" Weekend

Join the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants for Financial Literacy "Earn and Learn" Weekend at the Louisiana Children’s Museum
August 19 & 20, 2017 • 420 Julia Street, New Orleans

Volunteers will facilitate career stations throughout the museum at which children perform a "job" to earn money. Then they can decide how to spend, save or share the money they've earned. Career stations include creating foil boats, papermaking, chemist, identifying money denominations, budgeting in the grocery store or kid’s café, and simply learning through play.

Volunteers are needed for the following shifts:

  • Sat., Aug. 19 • 10:45 am to 12:45 pm
  • Sat., Aug. 19 • 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm
  • Sat., Aug. 19 • 10:45 am to 3:00 pm
  • Sun., Aug. 20 • 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Any questions? Contact Ann Lupo at 504.904.1125 or alupo@lcpa.org.

Volunteers may bring their children, but are asked that they be accompanied by another adult during their shift. Volunteers are admitted to the museum free of charge. All other guests are $8.50 per adult/child on Saturday, Aug. 19; all guests are admitted free on Sunday, Aug. 20. LCM members and children under the age of one are always admitted free.

Parking is available in nearby lots at an approximate cost of $5. The closest parking lots are the Residence Inn and PK1 lots with entrances on St. Joseph Street. Street parking is also available at parking meters but don’t forget your quarters. Each quarter will buy 12 minutes at the meter. City parking attendants are very diligent so please plan accordingly.
